The Student Mindful Mentor Program empowers students to promote trauma sensitive mindfulness in their schools and communities. Reset Instructors provide six weeks of training to Student Mindful Mentors, followed by three weeks of in-classroom student training observation and feedback.

Schools choose a minimum of five and a maximum of ten student mentors who meet with a Reset instructor for 30-60 minute sessions for six consecutive weeks to review and practice Reset mindfulness tools. Mentors can then use these strategies to meet the individualized needs of students who are part of a Tier 2 behavior support and education program; Check-in/Check-out system or to facilitate mindful moments in their schools. An additional three weeks are allotted for the Reset instructor to observe and supervise mentors and help them implement mindfulness practices school wide.

Mentors are selected based on: their ability to demonstrate mindful leadership in their classrooms and school, teacher recommendations, interest in becoming a mentor and basic understanding and personal practice of mindfulness tools.
Reset provides one “tool “ bag for every two mentors to use during their training and to keep in a designated place in the school once training is completed. These Reset “tool bags” can then be used by the mentors when they are working with fellow students.
Tool bags include a: booklet of practices and scripts, Zenergy chime, Mind Jar and SUE scale for Check-in/Check-out.
