Reset believes that when the social, emotional, and behavioral needs of students are met school communities thrive. Our Instructors combine Mindfulness Based Strategies with Trauma Informed Care to implement sustainable mindfulness practices among students, educators, and care-givers empowering individuals to be more self-aware, better self-regulate, and cultivate self-resiliency. We facilitate school resets through our In-Classroom Program, our Mindful Mentors Program, and a variety of Educator Workshops.
In-classroom Program
- K4 – 8: 10 Lessons (15-20 min.) for 10 weeks.
- High School: 9 Lessons (Full class period) for 9 weeks.
- Our curriculum is trauma-informed and meets CASEL guidelines for SEL and supports other adopted SEL programs such as Second Step and Responsive Classrooms
Skills and strategies taught include how to:
- Integrate and regulate the brain and nervous system
- Recognize and manage emotions
- Be emotionally flexible and resilient
- Feel less stressed and reactive
- Focus and concentrate
- Be more kind and empathetic
Mindful Mentors Program
Reset offers mentor programs for both students and school mindfulness coaches. Our Student Mindful Mentor Program trains student mentors to promote trauma sensitive mindfulness in their schools and communities, while our Mentoring for Mindfulness Coaches Program pairs Reset Instructors with your school to support Mindful Champions, Administration, and School Staff in ensuring the sustainability of mindfulness in your School Improvement Plan.
Educator Workshops
Our Workshops for School Staff is a five-part series, available in whole or individually, that: introduces mindfulness, explains the stress response and how mindfulness can decrease it, demonstrates how mindfulness enables us to self-regulate, teaches participants how to bring mindfulness into school and classroom relationships, and explains how mindfulness nurtures resiliency.To better support and serve schools and our community, Reset provides a variety of mindfulness based workshops.
In our Response to Trauma Workshop, participants learn how to build resilient school communities by focusing on core components necessary to neutralize the adverse effects of trauma.
The Mindfulness in Schools Introductory Workshop introduces educators to techniques that can be used daily to enhance focusing skills, manage emotions and support conflict resolution.
Our Resiliency Workshop is an intensive on the key components of how the stress response is triggered and what we can do to regulate the nervous system, slow down the stress response, and access the highest parts of our brain.
