In-Classroom Program

Re-Set offers in-classroom instruction. Re-Set instructors provide scientifically researched mindfulness skills designed to support, regulate, and Re-Set the nervous system.  When the strategies are practiced routinely, we develop the ability to feel more resilient and become better able to focus, learn, connect, and respond to whatever arises.

This program includes:

  • 10 weeks of in-classroom instruction for teachers and students taught by Re-Set instructors
    •  15-20 minute modules

We offer in-classroom instruction that is scientifically research based and includes Trauma Sensitive Instruction, utilizing CASEL endorsed and/or University vetted SEL curricula. Our instructors are certified and/ or have trained in the following curricula:

  • Growing Minds
  • Mindful Schools
  • Learning to Breathe
  • Mindful Life
  • Mindfulness in Schools Project (.b)
  • Stressed Teens
  • Niroga – Transformative Life Skills
  • Yoga-Ed
  • Calm Classroom

We work in conjunction with other adopted SEL programs such as Second Step and  Responsive Classrooms. Our program focuses on the intrinsic reward students feel when they learn to practice these strategies in a collaborative and experiential manner rather than theoretical conversation.

Best Practices Model

The most sustainable models for change take time and effort; there are no “quick fixes”. When administration, staff, and faculty commit to practicing Re-Set techniques with fidelity, they model and reflect the social and emotional changes they would like to see in the collective student body. While positive outcomes often are seen almost immediately, systemic change can take 3-5 years. Therefore, we recommend our best practices model for schools so that longitudinal data can be collected to examine change.Stan Eisenstein teaches physics at Centennial, but is also teaching ?for the first time ? a free, after class, 10-week class in medi

We suggest as a best practices model the following:

Year 1:

  • 10 weeks of in-classroom instruction for teachers and students taught by Re-Set instructors
    •  15-20 minute modules
  • Professional development, need based workshops, or study groups (concentration areas determined by schools) for teachers and staff
  • Teacher mentoring for Re-Set classroom breaks

Year 2:

  • 10 weeks of in-classroom instruction with students co-taught by Re-Set  instructors and classroom teachers
  • Professional development, need based workshops, or study groups (concentration areas determined by schools) for teachers and staff
  • School based curriculum development – meeting the specific needs of your school (e.g. trauma informed, executive function/skill development, self-regulation tools, movement breaks, etc.)
  • Teacher mentoring

Year 3:

  • Finalization of specific school based curriculum
  • Teacher and Administrative leadership training for sustainability
  • Student mentor training
