Jamie Lynn Tatera has a passion for helping people to develop healthy minds and bodies. As a former Milwaukee Public School teacher (2001-2008), Jamie Lynn engaged her students in social and emotional learning, healthy eating, yoga, dance, and critical thinking about choices. She obtained her Masters in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Bilingual Education from UW-Milwaukee and taught in the UW-M School of Education from 2008-2011. From 2012-2017, Jamie Lynn created and taught courses to educators at a continuing education college for teachers in the areas of mindfulness, yoga and self-compassion.
Jamie Lynn currently enjoys teaching social and emotional learning programs in schools as well as providing in-services and education in the areas of mindfulness and self-compassion to groups throughout Wisconsin. She is skilled in curriculum development and has a private practice (Wholly Mindful) in which she educates adults, children, teens and families in the areas of social and emotional learning, positive neural plasticity, mindfulness, nervous system regulation, dealing skillfully with difficult thoughts and feelings, as well as mindful self-compassion.
Jamie Lynn’s training in mindfulness includes coursework with Mindful Schools, Mindfulness in Schools Project .b, Growing Minds, Brene Brown, Positive Neural Plasticity training, yoga for adults and teens, the therapeutic applications of yoga for children, and Mindful Self-Compassion for adults and teens.
